December 30, 2011 - Chanukah Toy Drive
As part of my continuing efforts to give tzadaka and to inspire others to participate we organized a toy drive with Mrs. Susie Stern in memory of her aunt Linda Stowe. These toys were delivered to sick children in hospitals and to children in Jafco by the afternoon Chabad school children in Aventura under the direction of Rabbi Kievman. If you would like to help encourage children to do more acts of kindness please contact me to get involved. The Talmud says that one must be very careful not to ignore an opportunity to  help others. When you think about how blessed you are it obliges you to show appreciation. May Hashem bless all of you who participated in the toy drive. Thank you!  Warm Regards, Rabbi Favish Dalfin

December 26, 2011 - First Printing of Tanya in North Bay Village

On Sunday Dec 11, 2011 we printed the first 100 copies of our Tanya in North Bay Village. The Rebbe instructed us to print no less than 100 copies of a Tanya in every Jewish community in the entire world.  Printing 100 copies of a 500 page book is not an easy task. In North Bay Village there are no printers to do this job. The Rebbe instructed us that each community must print the books in that community. So what were we to do? Only from the generosity of Hashem did we make this happen. Oren, one of our dear friends arranged for a commercial grade copy machine to be delivered to my house on that Sunday. This machine is worth more than 20 thousand dollars and was lent to us exclusively at no charge. The copy machine ran for more than 8 hours straight. We had a BBQ and many wonderful happy guests. What a success! If you would like to have the blessings that come with owning this Tanya please contact me. On that Sunday it was exactly 22 years that my wife and I and our eldest son Mendy arrived in South Florida as shluchim / emissaries of the Lubavitcher Rebbe.

September 09, 2011 - Is life your most valued possession?

Update - Rabbi Favish Dalfin Returns from Israel:

On Friday September 09, 2011 Rabbi Dalfin went to Israel to visit Orphans and widows who need assistance. He arrived with Tzedaka and a few friends from Hollywood Florida. They distributed food vouchers and Tzedaka for Rosh Hashana. It was a memorable trip that included all of our sponsors and friends who participated in our kind act of sharing. Israel is a remarkable place. The people are full of hope and inspiration. Rabbi Dalfin said,
"For me personally, it was my 15th visit bringing happiness and good wishes from our community members. It only gets better and better every time!”

The ultimate goal is to have more and more of our community members participate and realize that giving is actually getting. The feeling one gets when giving Tzedaka is an immensely gratifying experience that enriches our lives in almost every way.

We all purchase insurance to protect our homes and our cars. Is life your most valued possession? What about insurance for your soul? How can you guarantee the ultimate protection in life?  If you get sick, who are you going to ask for help? The agent that sold you your insurance policy or Hashem? Only from Hashem can we obtain the most valuable insurance.  Guarantee yourself a good life. Earn it by giving.

May 02, 2011 -
Making a Big Impact!

Once again we were blessed to bring joy to a needy family in our community. This couple waited for 18 years to rejoice with their own child. After many miscarriages and disappointments they were able to finally adopt a baby girl. This miracle was financed by several donors. Our contribution was the final push to complete the Mitzvah. It is a big deal to enable a lonely couple, and their elderly mother to enjoy Nachas! Wishing you a Blessed Rosh Chodesh Iyar!

April 16, 2011 - Words from a Friend......

I am not from a religious family. Four years ago I had no idea even what Tzedaka was. I met Rabbi Dalfin four years ago when I walked into the Chabad of North Bay Village.  I had no idea how lost I was. I was a normal functioning young Jewish man but I had no roots in Torah. I had no religious upbringing. Today I can't claim to be a Torah scholar but I am on a path of spiritual goodness thanks to Hasem and the efforts of Rabbi Dalfin and others in our shuel.  Loha shora, dont talk gossip, give charity, don't eat traif, don't plot against your enemies, try and keep the shabat, honor your parents. All of these are life important lessons I have learned from Torah and I know it is just scratching the surface. A Farbrengen is something that 4 years ago I would never go to. What? Hang out with a bunch of old guys who are religious? The black hats? You must be crazy. What could be more boring? Oh, no my friend, you could not be more wrong. The torah tells us that at times we must sit with friends, party and drink and be social. It has lessons for us that we need to learn. Contrary to being boring it was very entertaining and educational and heart warming at the same time. Sure there was no loud music and dancing but there were wonderful positive thinking people who were intelligent and friendly. No attitudes and no sizing up of bank accounts. Just good friendly time among men who have a love for Hashem, Torah, life and others around them. It is an opportunity to unplug and let go, talk about ideas, eat some good food and have a drink of course. It was also a great opportunity to listen to Rabbi Dalfin expound many wonderful Torah concepts that continue to roll around in the logic part of my brain for a long time to come. If you have the opportunity to attend an Farbrengen I say do it. Make the time to sit with your friends and just enjoy. It is sort of like a mini shabbat that you will appreciate.
Warm Regards, Dov Ber

January 16, 2011 - Rabbi Dalfin’s Report on his Return From Israel

I want to thank those of you who made this trip possible not only with monetary support but also with kind wishes and prayers. The simcha you spread to those who are in need is cherished by Hashem. The Torah says that Hashem guarantees that any amount that you give for tzadaka you will be blessed with a return for your investment in multiples and good health for you and your family.

Bar mitzvah for Orphans – Imagine the joy on the faces of 10 children who you helped bar mitzvah. The dancing, singing and enjoyment is what Hashem commands us to do. It is fulfilling our duty to make others happy and shine light on those who are less fortunate than us.

Weekly Food Distribution Service – We are supplying vegetables and fruits grown directly from the holy ground that our great sages once walked upon. These foods are being consumed by your fellow Jews in Israel who would other wise go hungry. The Torah says providing sustenance is a higher level of charity than simply giving money. The fields where this food is grown is in the city of Rehovot. The Torah says Rehovot was given its name by our father Isaac. In Hebrew Rehovot means that Hashem will magnify our blessings for us and indeed this is the case. Your tzadaka helps to feed more than 100 needy families weekly.

With Warm Regards,
Rabbi Favish Mordechai Dalfin

6/19/10: In Jerusalem Rabbi Dalfin Celebrated
A Bat Mitzvah Party for 15 Girls

On June 6th at 11 AM we celebrated the bat mitzvah party for 15 girls. This included a tour to the tunnels adjacent to the Kotel . We had A beautiful and delicious lunch in a restaurant in a tunnel next to the Kotel. The use of the tunnel stretches back to the time of the Romans.  Each girl received earnings, a ring and a leather bound chumash with their name on it. Their mothers couldn’t stop thanking us for this unforgettable party . Thank you for bringing so much joy to all these youngsters of today who will be our leaders for tomorrow.

We are also helping young Jewish girls RETURN TO THEIR ROOTS. In the heart of Jerusalem just around the corner of the famous Ben Yehuda plaza there is a fantastic program for young Jewish girls who are searching for their Jewish heritage. Many times they have saved Jewish girls at risk who were involved with Arab men and drugs etc. For more than five years this program has provided a safe heaven and a warm home for hundreds of needy Jewish girls. It has also been successful in marrying over 90 of these girls who were in our program.

Best Wishes
Rabbi FAvish Mordichaie Dalfin

Rabbi Dalfin Brings Education to Russian Students

Rabbi Dalfin visits Migdal H’amek in Northern Israel. There is a special yeshiva program for Russian students who want to learn about their Jewish heritage. We continue to sponsor this program and are very proud of this vital work that all of you help me accomplish.

There are forty students enrolled in this Yeshiva program. The Rebbe cried for the Russian Jewry to be welcomed in our communities and to educate them with Torah.  This is a great opportunity for you to make a difference for future generations. Your support makes all this possible. Thank you very much.

Best Wishes,
Rabbi Favish Dalfin

Lag B'Omer Celebration - North Bay Village - 2010

A 1987 Photo of Rabbi Dalfin Lecturing at a Ramban Syium

This year we concluded the daily studying of the Rambam for the 28th cycle. This week my son Mendy organized a celebration in the Chabad Yesiva in Miami Beach Florida. As the saying goes the apple does not fall far from the tree.  Many times the Lebavitcher Rebbe urged world Jewry to engage in learning the laws of Rambam daily.

Best Wishes,

Rabbi Favish Dalfin
